We focus on understanding each child as an individual and creating an environment where they feel safe, valued and supported to grow at their own pace. Our commitment is to provide thoughtful, personalised support that nurtures confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning, ensuring all children have the opportunity to thrive.

Our Experienced and Supportive SEND Team

We are extremely proud to be one of the few nurseries in the North West with two formally qualified Level 3 SENDCos, a specialist qualification that goes far beyond standard practitioner training. Our SEND provision is led by Rebecca Alberts, a highly experienced SENDCo recognised across Lancashire County Council for her depth of knowledge and close work with multi-agency professionals. She is supported by Stephanie Graham, our Deputy SENDCo, who also holds the Level 3 SENDCo qualification and brings a warm, sensitive approach to understanding children’s needs.

Alongside them, every member of our team receives ongoing SEND training each term, ensuring we have the confidence, expertise and up-to-date strategies to support every child with care, insight and personalised attention.

How we keep in touch

WellComm

A respected speech and language toolkit that helps us identify communication strengths and areas where extra support may be needed. It provides clear, targeted activities to build early listening, speech and language skills.

Makaton and Signing Support

Many of our practitioners use Makaton signs and symbols to support communication, making interactions more accessible and reducing frustration. Signing is used throughout the day to promote understanding, confidence and expression.

Autism Support Strategies

We have strong experience supporting autistic children and use structured, research-backed methods to help with communication, sensory regulation, transitions, routines and emotional understanding. Visual timetables, personalised sensory strategies and targeted communication tools are all part of our offer.

Emotional and Sensory Regulation Tools

We use a range of calming strategies including sensory baskets, weighted cushions, quiet spaces, fidget tools and personalised regulation plans to help children manage their feelings and feel safe and settled.
